Brain science, the early childhood brain and the Birth to Five Policy Alliance.

One thing we continue to learn more about as we try to understand how best to enhance healthy child development is the importance of brain development during a child's early years and the relationship between brain development and postive outcomes later in life. It can be difficult though to keep track of all the work being done in this area, and so we are happy to share a post with you from the Birth to Five Policy Alliance titled "Brain Science - The Early Childhood Brain" - here - that highlights a number of key research findings on brain science, including information about the pace of brain development, brain architecture, the impact of toxic stress on early childhood, and the importance of secure relationships between children and their caregivers. Please do take a look, and please do let us know what you think and how you might use this information in your community or  neighborhood.
