As we end Child Abuse
Prevention Month 2015, let's take a look back at the highlights made
possible through the generous support of donors and partners just like
kicked-off the month by unveiling our new logo featuring the pinwheel,
demonstrating our commitment to this image that allows us to engage
people in new ways.
We are officially the "pinwheel people!"
Pinwheel Garden was held in Chicago between two elementary schools with
hundreds of students, faculty and parents to further promote the
pinwheel as the symbol for the great childhoods all children deserve. Headline speakers included Illinois First Lady Diana Rauner and Chicago Alderman Mary O'Connor.
later in Times Square in New York, we staged another Big Pinwheel
Garden. This one headlined by Ginger Zee of "Good Morning America," New
York Knicks legend John Starks and Cristina Cuomo, MANHATTAN magazine Editor in Chief.
Our thanks to Kappa Delta, Sigma Delta Tau, Modern
Luxury Publishing, Chartwells and the General Federation of Women's
Clubs for their support.
throughout April, Prevent Child Abuse America state chapters were
active with pinwheels in a variety of ways, from pinwheels in front of
the state capitol steps in Louisiana to a massive pinwheel garden at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Virginia to pinwheel cupcakes in Wyoming!
This is but a small sampling of the incredible creativity with which our chapters implement Pinwheels for Prevention each year.
