We wanted to share a video with you that we shot with Today's Family. This video talks about Prevent Child Abuse America and Healthy Families America and played on television throughout 2007. While the language as a whole isn't exactly what we might use today or in the future, it is a nice overview of what we are trying to do and trying to say about the prevention of child abuse and neglect. We also want to take this opportunity to once again thank The Foresters for their support in getting this video made. They have been and continue to be great friends of the organization.

Rose's New Shoes - A Story About Bullying.

We wanted to let you know about a new children's book we have developed in collaboration with our publishing partner Channing-Bete. The name of the book is Rose's New Shoes and it is about bullying. For a brief description please read on and for more information about how your organization or one you work with can order the book please go here.
"In this charming story, Rose goes to school happy because she has shiny-new red shoes. But seeing Carlos, a classmate, being bullied leaves her feeling scared and conflicted. She's afraid of the bullies, but she's also sad that she didn't help Carlos.
Later, her dad helps her see that there are lots of things that everyone - especially victims and bystanders like herself - can do to help stop bullying. The next day there's a happy ending when Rose enlists her friend Becca's help in reporting the bullies to a teacher and the girls befriend Carlos."

This is not an April Fool's joke, early registration for PCA America's 2008 National conference is over. That said, we still have great rates though.
This is no April Fool's joke, the early bird registration period for PCA America's 2008 National conference - Connecting the Dots...turning knowledge into action - is officially over and the regular registration rate of $375 is in effect until May 8th when advance registration will close. Still, at $375 the regular registration rate is cheaper then our onsite rate of $410 and given the quality of this conference this is definitely a steal. So, please visit our website for more information, please note that the hotel cut-off is April 18th and please continue to visit the conference blog as well. We look forward to seeing you at the conference.
